Leadership

Being a leader takes a lot or responsibility and patience. What is a leader? A leader is someone who rules, guides, or inspires. All leadership comes from God and its purpose is not to be a position of status but rather of service.

“But not so with you; let the greatest among you become
as the youngest and the leader as the servant.”

-Luke 22:26

All leadership positions are ordained only by God. The president is not president because of the peoples’ votes but rather because of God’s decision. This will lead me to a brief discussion about our current president, Barack Hussein Obama. He tricked people and lied. How did he get into office? Because of God’s will. God allowed Obama to take office because He wanted our country to see that we needed God back in our nation. Obama, while campaigning, claimed to be a Christian but once he was elected he quickly began to mock God, the bible, and follow Muslim customs. He refuses to cover his heart during the national anthem and doesn’t want to wear the flag pin that every president wears because it “represents bombs and war”. How can we, as Christians, support a President who supports same sex marriage and the murdering of innocent lives through abortion? (Proverbs 18:22 says He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord, not SHE who finds a wife.). Our country has suffered more turmoil and division since Obama came into office. I don’t mean to offend anyone right now. This isn’t politics; it’s the bible.

“Moneylenders oppress my people, and their creditors cheat them.
My people, your leaders are misleading you, so that
you do not know which way to turn.”
-Isaiah 3:12

The bible warns about people like this and there were rulers like Obama in the Old Testament. We are a misled people. However, we are to respect the authorities. Do we need to think as they think? No. But we need to follow the laws accordingly as long as they do not cause us to sin.

“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for
there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities
that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the
authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those
who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”

-Romans 13:1-2

“Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities to be obedient…”

-Titus 3:1

“Paul answered, ‘Brothers, I did not know that he was the High Priest.
For Scripture says: ‘You shall not curse the ruler of your people.’

-Acts 23:5

What do we do with rulers like Obama? Don’t follow his way of thinking; don’t believe the lies he speaks and don’t let him brainwash you. He is a false prophet. However, do not curse his name.

“Pay no attention to them! They are blind leading the blind.
When a blind person leads another, the two will fall into a pit.”

-Matthew 15:14

“Jesus then called them to him and said, ‘As you know, the so-called rulers of the nations act as tyrants
and their great ones oppress them. But it shall not be so among you; whoever would be
great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you shall make himself slave of all.
Think of the Son of Man who has not come to be served but to serve and to give his life to redeem many.”

-Mark 10:42-45

We must also bring these guidelines into our households. Children are to respect their parents, no matter what age. The government today says that at age eighteen one becomes an adult. Don’t let that idea get to your head. If the child is still living at home, then he is subject to the rules that the father establishes. If a man is over the age of eighteen, than it is by the father's grace that he is allowed to stay home. The child should not take advantage of the situation and continue to respect and honor his father.

“Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older.
All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because
‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

-1 Peter 5:5

Do you have a calling on your life to be a leader? Whether it be a father, boss, president, deacon, or teacher, you are a leader. Here’s some scripture to help direct you.

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider
others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only
to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude
should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but
made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made
in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself and became obedient to death-even death on a cross!”

-Philippians 2:3-8

“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you…”

-Matthew 5:44

“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as
overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing,
as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not
lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.”

-1 Peter 5:2-4

“Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock,
among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to
shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.”

-Acts 20:28

“Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no
value, and only ruins those who listen.”

-2 Timothy 2:14

“Serve one another with the gifts each of you received,
thus becoming good managers of the varied graces of God.”

-1 Peter 4:10

“I led them with cords of human kindness, with leading strings of love, and I became for
them as one who eases the yoke upon their neck and stoops down to feed them.”

-Hosea 11:4

“Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.”

-Matthew 5:37

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

-1 Peter 5:7

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time
we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

-Galatians 6:9

“But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain
—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.”

-Exodus 18:21

“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

-Proverbs 4:23

“Do to others as you would like them to do to you.”

-Luke 6:31

“For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or
quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of
good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy
word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who
contradict it. For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially
those of the circumcision party. They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by
teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach.”

-Titus 1:7-14

“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an
example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.”

-1 Timothy 4:12

Here's a video to show what an ignorant president we have who lacks wisdom, knowledge, faith, and compassion.

  3. We all need to be in prayer for all of those in leadership positions and also for wisdom as we vote this year.

    1. Definitely! I know that there will be a national day for prayer over our nation sometime in September. We need to be cautious on who we allow to have control over our nation, not just the president but for Senators and Representatives as well.
